We contracted with a San Diego public relations / consumer research firm, to determine the extent to which money gets dropped in the drive-thru section at quick service restaurants. The survey that was conducted is the first known survey to address this subject.
The survey began by asking the restaurant associate in the drive-thru window, "how often do people drop money?". If the associate acknowledged that the scenario exists, then 2 follow-up questions were asked, "how many times per day?", and "what do you do about it?".
